PPC is one of the most popular ways to promote any website online — especially when it comes to ecommerce.
Ecommerce and PPC synergize extremely well. When you use them together, you can promote your brand, product categories, and even individual products to encourage sales.
Plus, because PPC is so affordable, your strategy can pay for itself with just a few sales. Sometimes, in the best cases, you can pay for an entire month of PPC with just one sale — and then some!
While PPC requires you to pay, it’s easy to earn back your investment when you target high-value keywords that your customers search each day. Then, instead of waiting for SEO results, you can appear at the top of search engines like Google, earn a new sale, and get a leg up on your competitors.
And speaking of SEO, PPC is the perfect partner for your SEO strategy. When you target the same keywords with both strategies, you can show up multiple times for the same search term.
That means you have double the chances of attracting a new customer, beating your competitors, and making a sale.
And in most cases, PPC only costs you a few cents per day!
Choosing Your PPC Agency
We have 35 PPC agencies on our list. That’s a good starting point, but unfortunately, it doesn’t give you a direct answer of who you should pay to be your PPC partner.
That’s because every ecommerce business is different, and nobody knows your company like you.
So we got you started with our objective list of the 35 best PPC providers in the industry. These agencies have all proven that they work well with their ecommerce clients specifically. They take a minimal investment and turn it into big profits by running competitive, smart PPC campaigns.
But that’s all well and good — how can you find the PPC agency for your company?
To figure that out, you have to do some homework.
Looking through our list is a smart start. Check out the names of each agency, their location, their pricing, and their company size. If any of those stand out to you, add that agency to a short list.
Repeat that process for every agency on our list. That’ll give you a “good” list of about 8-10 agencies you can research further.
Next, read through your short list and go to each agency’s website. Specifically, look at their homepage, About page, and Testimonials page.
A good PPC agency will have all three of these pages listed in their top menu navigation, so you should be able to find each one easily.
An agency’s homepage should show modern design elements like full-width displays, parallax scrolling, background video, large images, company logos, PPC statistics, and more.
If an agency is lacking one of those elements, it’s no big deal — they probably have their own design style.
But if an agency is lacking all of those elements, then it’s a red flag. Look around a little more to see if they incorporate any modern design elements in their site. If they don’t, you can safely cross them off your list.
After all, if they can’t keep their own site up to date, how much can they help you?
Second, look at the agency’s About page. This page should tell you pretty much everything you want to know about who’s in the company, how long the company has been around, and more.
The more an agency has to say about itself, the better. Typically, if an agency says a lot about its founding, team, and ethics, they’re an open agency that’s happy to talk with their clients.
If they only have a few tidbits of information about their company, they may have something to hide.
With that in mind, you can cross off agencies like that.
Third, look at the Testimonials page that an agency maintains.
If they don’t have a Testimonials page, it’s not the end of the world — it’s possible they don’t ask for testimonials.
But if they only have one or two testimonials, that may be a red flag. That could mean the agency generally doesn’t impress their clients or it may be too new to have a lot of positive feedback.
On the other hand, an agency with a full page of testimonials — especially those with more than 100 — probably does a great deal of work for their clients. After all, it’s much harder to get a positive review from someone than it is to get a negative review.
So if an agency has lots of great testimonials, you can bet they’re a reliable business.
Finally, contact the remaining agencies on your list and talk to them directly. If you hit it off, then that’s great!
But if you butt heads, you should probably look elsewhere.
PPC contracts can last for upward of a year. If you butt heads with an agency right off the bat, do you really want to be a partner with them for a year?
Similarly, if you hit it off with an agency right away, you can feel a little more comfortable partnering with them for a PPC contract.
At the end of the day, you’re the expert on your business, and only you can really figure out the best PPC partner for your ecommerce business.
Once you find the right one, you can grow your brand — and sales — like never before.
